Before the Renaissance

 

Christianity : 

Christians are monotheistic which means they believe that there is only one God in this world that had created the earth and heaven. Christianity had began in the 1st century AD after Jesus Christ himself had died and resurrected on the cross. Jesus Christ is the son of God who has shown to be able to heal people, make miracles, and calm storms. Jesus is letting people into his "kingdom" to repent for their sins and make people look forward for his return.  

What Is Christianity?

        While learning more about Christianity, I have encountered many ideas that have caught my eyes. To start off, the miracles Christ has said to have made has shocked me (Christianity 4:48 - 5:00). Christ has turned water into wine, walked on water, and has resurrected from the dead. All three miracles that God has made, all are things a regular human being will never be capable to do. Another idea that I had found interesting about Christianity were the secret symbols used to talk about religion. These symbol "were used
to hide from the Romans" [hide Christianity] in order to talk about Christianity without anyone knowing (Christianity 9:48 - 10:00). 

"Christianity Before Christ"

       While watching the film "Christianity from Judaism to Constantine: Crash Course World History, I had learned the history of Christianity and how it was formed. Before Christianity, the video had stated "The Hebrews had initially worshiped many Gods..." (Christianity 1:07 - 1:16). Then the Hebrews had developed an idea "monotheism" which is the idea that there is only one true God. God tells his followers to not worship any other God besides him. I had also learned that God demands moral righteousness and moral justice. 

"Heaven and Hell"

        I had first learned about Heaven and Hell awhile back while attending church. I vividly remember asking a pastor what Heaven is like. The pastor had informed me that Heaven is everything you want it to be and better. But God himself does not allow you in until you have been punished for the sins you had committed and the day you are punished is called "Judgment Day." On this day, before one is punished by God, God will judge you first for the deeds or failures you have committed during their lifetime. 

History Summarized: Spread of Christianity 

The video summarized the history of  the word "God" and how Jesus Christ became the most followed religion.
